I have a question about a project i'm working on. I have a piece that is modern with mesc. stitches on it. the picture i drew has large areas of straight lines like squares on top of rectangles as well as as long lines that go from top left down to bottom right. i'm having a heck of a time keeping them look totally straight after i add buttonhole stitches. does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this better?

Hi julianna, difficult to see what you mean without a photo, so please bear with me and I'll try to help you. If you are doing a corded stitch - instead of taking the cord straight over to the other side, hook it in midway before anchoring to the other side. Would this help at all? Alternatively post a photo and we can take it from there ..

Sometimes I draw in a few lines before I start the lace, to help me keep my rows parallel.
