Halas lace resources: books, webpages etc.

This website has photos of Halas lace. The gallery page has a video, which has some brief shots of the lace being made. The laces are not shown in enough detail. But the catalog page does have some images which can be enlarged, so stitches may be identifiable. http://www.halasicsipke.hu/start_eng.html

A facebook page, be sure to look at the PHOTOS. https://www.facebook.com/HalasiCsipke

Unfortunately the software does not allow us to delete just one photo from a comment. The only option is to delete the whole comment. One could highlight and copy the whole comment, then click on the little x (which deletes the comment), then paste what you have copied into a new comment box, and before saving it, delete the part which is the unwanted photo. We do have your two butterfly photos in our PHOTO section, so everybody can see them.

Lorelei - Okay! No postcards. I thought you meant that we couldn't use it for a logo, not that it shouldn't be posted at all. How do I remove the one from my former comment?

Don't post photos of postcards. It is a copyright infringement. I know that people do it all the time on other sites. Just don't. If you all want more photos of Halas, make some samples for us! Find a market where small little pieces of it are being sold. Buy one. Scan it and post the scan. That is not a copyright infringement.

One more thing - would folks like me to scan and post the other postcard pictures from the set?

Elizabeth - I know what you mean! Every lace is appealing to try. The bottom butterfly, that I have the actual lace for, is also on one of the postcards in the same set as the top butterfly, so I think both are commonly made and sold there.

Either picture would be good, Carolyn. Lovely pieces.
I think I have seen the top one before, - or a butterfly very similar. I believe it is a piece they work often for sale.
Hmmm! I really must get all the current stuff out of the way, and have a go at this lace (along with Puncetto, and Amelia Ars!!!) Can someone slow down the clocks, please?!!!

Lorelei, I have some Halas lace I'll image and post this weekend for review as a possible logo.

Do any of you have a piece of Halas that we can use as a logo for this group? I'm kind of tired of looking at those heads.

Persistance will pay off in the end Naomi!
