Interested in learning to make Kenmare lace from THE expert, Nora Finnegan, from Ireland? She will be teaching Irish Needlelace at the IOLI convention this summer in Mesa, Arizona, USA. Details can be found here: https://sites.google.com/internationalorganizationoflace.org/2020-i...

A beautiful close-up photograph of an Irish Point made using a single thread "fil de contour" is presented in the book of N. Lovesey "Creative design in needlepoint lace". See page 141.
Pages 71, 97, 98 and page 111 are also, I think, Irish Point, but not sure about the contour thread.

Yes, I discovered that when I read Elizabeth Kurella's new book on Youghal. Surprised me.  My book review http://needlelacetalk.ning.com/group/youghallace/page/book-review-o...

I had not realized, till I read the caption under Christiane's photo, that Youghal used only one thick outline thread, - not the usual 2 threads laid together.

I presume the filling stitches are worked Around the whole thread, - not stitched Through the thread like in Halas Lace.

Christiane, thank you. I am a dinosaur when it comes to technology.
Christiane, je vous remercie. Je suis un dinosaure quand il vient à la technologie.
