Antonia, you are most welcome. I am just paying it forward.
Your information is very helpful.
I made the circle diagram 6" and have Lizbeth #20 available. All ready to start. :)
please see comment below
HI Antonia, I'm glad that you want to get started. I understand that you would like to work on the same size piece, but I believe that may be difficult because it is so big. I am making it completely oversized so that when I take pictures, everyone will be able to see my stitches. If you wish however, I did give the measurements in a comment on the photo.
I'm thinking what a good size if you want it large is to make the diagram about 6" in diameter and use either size 3 or 5 in the perle cotton or use the crochet cotton. You can also use Lizbeth size 10 or 20. I'm sorry to not have an exact answer. Why don't you try with what you have on hand that sounds good and go from there. When I started, I tried all kinds of things and found that each project size is different. You just have to see what looks good.
HI Linda: I am excited to start here. I just printed out your pattern. The size of the circle pattern is about 4 inches in diameter. What size is yours in a larger scale?
As a practice piece, I want to work on the same size pattern as yours and use the same thickness of thread.
In reference to the size of thread, what size is your thread equivalent to in DMC perle cotton and crochet cotton?
Ok so here we begin. This is the picture that I used to begin my project but of course in a much larger size and with yarn.
