Hi Debbie, No these are not stiffened in any way at all. The blue one is mounted on a brooch moulding with a pin on the back & the other two are ready to be mounted the same way. I have stitched the blue one invisibly around the edge of the brooch.

How do you stiffen your various works? Is there wire in the cordonnet and/or starching as many crocheted doilies are?

The more often I look at these, the more I like them. There is such a good balance of dense and transparent, different degrees of transparency, thick outlines, layering decorations.
