This is 4 small squares put together with an edge added. Pikes Peak is a mountain in Colorado.
The mat was worked as one large unit, with the trace threads continuous throughout. Quite a mental challenge!!! :)
Thread used was Tatting thread - DMC Special Dentelle #80

Right ! I meet ladies from Rockies guild last week in Denver. They do Bobbin class only right now and on the week day from 7am to 9am .. It's way far from Colorado Springs and way to late... as I have girl (+ her school homework :))

Tatting I did try successfully myself from YouTube and internet.

But this Pag Lace not let me rest ... So obsession about it right now - cannot sleep as cannot get it :/

We always liked Denver, but I am not sure we can get there again. We are getting a bit old for rushing around the world, though we are thinking of another trip to see the family who are now in Seattle.

I will let you know if we come your way.  There are some good lace makers in the Rockies guild, so see their web site, and maybe make contact.  I know one tatting man who lives in Pueblo, and is in the Guild.

The small squares were the original piece, which I used for teaching in a class at the Denver IOLI convention, in 2005.

I taught a Reticella type lace, and named each square for a Colorado place - Pikes Peak, Chair lifts & ski Slopes, Trail Ridge Road, etc.  My daughter used to live in Denver, and we visited a few times!!  I remember going to Colorado Springs on one visit, - and shopping at that Huge outlet Stores complex!!!!!

I am still a member of the Rocky Mts Lace Guild, and know the lacers there. Are you a member too?

It is fun to put 4 squares together - and get another pattern where they intersect.

Elizabeth, this is just brilliant and I can see the combination of the squares formed into something unexpected. It is so beautiful! What is the actual size of each square?
