Yes, thank you. You explain it very well.  Probably too many stitches, as I tend to work rather tight, and close together, as I cram more stitches in!  I need to relax a bit, and allow the stitches more room!

I found it more difficult to work, as I am used to working on a pad, and this is real Punto in Aria - Stitches in Air!! I  

I just need a lot more practice, I think.!

If the work curls, it normally has to do with the tension you put on the thread while placing your stitches (too loose or too tight) or the number of stitches you make in your motif .

Another problem may occur when the linen is stretched too tight in the embroidery hoop, this deforms the linen and makes the squares you want to fill slightly larger . When you remove the hoop the linen gets back to its normal proportion and your work tends to be "wavy" by which I mean it is slightly too large for the squares.

You do beautiful work. I love this.

I would like to know more about the threads you use.  I have tried one piece of this type of lace, - from the new Aussie book by Margaret Stephens, but some bits seemed to curl up a bit.
