Staying cool is the hard part at the moment!!!!!! You, too, I suspect!!!
Doing your Nl Proficiency is a good way to go. you will learn a lot - things you might otherwised dodge you will Have to do for the exam!!
I am a traditionalist, mainly, and not very good with contemporary art. I am mainly self taught, but have had a couple of wonderful workshops with the Aust. lace Guild AGM week, which helped get me correctly on my way! Margaret Stevens (on this list) really got me going when I had 4 days with her, when the NAC was in Melbourne, and I was just starting Needlelace. After the first day with her, I went home and told my husband - "Now I can understand what the books are telling me" - and I have never looked back!! I still have the Dorset ring and the tassel with the beaded NL head that we made in class hanging here!!!
Another week was well spent at the Gros Point workshop. I had worked a piece, but knew I was wrong somewhere, but did not know how to correct it. The late Linda Russell soon sorted me out, and I think Gros Point is one of my favourites. I love working all the embellishments on the raised work!
Keep in touch, and I am happy to help wherever I can.
