No Christiane I have never worked with linen thread because now it's not like the old one. The modern thread often has small bumps that do not slide and then it becomes hairy. I prefer cotton or silk.

During the reign of the Sun King, about 30 Venetian lacemakers taught this type of lace to some French teachers and so it spread to France. When the Serenissima Republic of Venice became aware of the economic damage than to her derived, ordered the immediate return to the ladies with the threat of death, but it was too late. In the old archives of Venice, there is still the order. So the two laces are a bit similar.

The guide costs € 15,00 + € 1.00 the envelope. The mail for America is € 9.00 by priority mail or by registered mail € 12,50.
The full price is € 25.00 or € 28.50. Of course these prices are in Euro.

Ciao

Yes, this site is Wonderful, and I, too, have learned so much about various needle Laces. Everyone is friendly and helpful, - but that is what it is all about.  We help each other, and learn from each other, and the craft will survive!

I am glad you are enjoying both this site, and making  needlelace, and also contributing, so we can learn from you, as well as the other way around!!
