What's the difference between alencon & point de gaze?

They look very similar to me and I was just wondering if someone could point out the main difference between the two types of lace?

What kind of needle lace do you make, and how long have you been making it?

What kind or kinds of needle lace do you want to learn?
Needle & Netting

Wedding gown lace completed

So while not true needle lace (I think this style is called Limerick or needlerun lace), this still took me many many hours to complete. I will write more about it later. I just wanted to post this up before handing it over (eeek!) to my dressmaker.
