"One other tip I should have passed on is, if your thread is spiraling back on itself, hold your work upside down and let the needle dangle.  It will unwind the kinks in the thread."

"Use about 18" of thread on your needle.  If it is longer it will tend to get tangled.  Before starting a new row, make sure you have at least three times the length of the row.  Undo the row you started, and feed the left over…"

I mainly do bobbin lace and have done some tatting. Last year I took a needle lace class with Nancy Evans at the IOLI convention and will take another one this year. I have passed on my little knowledge to my lace guild, teaching a very simple design. My website is mainly bobbin lace.
