Video on 'elchbika alger' on YouTube

Just found this wonderful video on what appears to be Chebka lace, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrSrhmiWmFw, but from Algeria. They call it Elchbika Alger, and beautifully represents the whole line of Tunisian, Moroccan, etc., variations of this knotted needlelace. It illustrates the use of a pillow as well as paper patterns held in the hand. Hope you speak Arabic.

That is what I so love working with is the different sized threads to make the picture and still all the same colour.

That is amazing to have a certificate like that. You must of so loved the IOLI convention, maybe there will be another convention to look forward to in the future.

Do you have this video somewhere on one of your lists?  It was posted October 2012.  It is on Irish crochet, crochetting over a padding cord.

That is wonderful news that you will be teaching an advanced Alencon lace class in 2012. I have not tried any Alencon lace, but I'm working on proficency in Gros pt de Venise and Point de Gaze. What do I need to do to be qualified to for your class?
