Buttonhole rings

It is my first time making these rings. I am adding different size rings to a butterfly design and have couched them in place before starting to fill my shape. What is the correct way to end off my two tails of thread? Or should I have finished off threads before oohing the buttonhole rings on. ThanksI am new member to this site. Thank youSee More
