Hi Emily

unfortunately I don't know where you'd get the frame from as it was one which came with a cross stitch kit, but I have seen square frames like the circular ones, although they're not as easy to find.

sorry I can't be of much help, from Stephanie

PS the kit was a DMC "seashore needlecraft kit" if this is any help. The frame is called a flexi-frame

Hello Emily,

Sorry not to have responded sooner but I've been away to London for a few days. I'm in Huddersfield so not too far away from you.

I meant to say: let me know if this works.  Sometimes it may take a few minutes before the change is visible.

Emily: it should be possible for you to set your page so that you get the updates you want.  Find the box with your name on it, on the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Click on SETTINGS.

On the left, under the heading MY SETTINGS, click on EMAIL.

Check all the little boxes for what you want to receive emails about.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on SAVE.

However there is anotheer way, in addition to this, to find out what the current activity is.  I have the whole site set so that recent activity appears on the NEEDLELACETALK page called MAIN.  It appear there as the center column, and it is currently set to show the 20 most recent posts or activities.  It is set so that new comments, new photos, new members and new profile updates are posted there.  The last is useful because sometimes members post their new websites or blogs or photo sharing sites.

Yu can always help the Guild. Are you a member? I have no idea. My husband, Bob is the membership member at he moment but I keep out of that side of things. An article for the magazine is always a good idea. How you started, how you get on. WE need young people to give ideas as well as help. Most of us are wrinklies. I am a granny, although I would like to think I am young a heart. I have just got back from a  day working at the Fenland Lace day. Had a good time but I talked myself into th eground. I go armed with my stock, piece of work usually needle lace and go from there. Always feel that I should help those who are struggling with their lace. I had help when I began and it is a way of giving something back. that is how we began the business, Bob retired and began to make lace tools for me, friends saw them and the rest is history. Like Topsey it grew! Are any of your children in school or do you have them all at home? I am sure it is hard work but it is a lovely time as well. Once they go to school they change. Keep in touch I will always help if I can. If you want me to I could contact the chairman of theguild and pass on your name.

Hello Emily, Thank you for contacting me. As you probably know I have been involved with the Guild of Needle Laces for many years, I think it is a great Guild. However, we have problems with no one wanting to help. mainly due to heath considerations I have had to come off the committee but still do their web sales. I live in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Will you be going to the lace fair at Cranmore Park, Soulihul at the beginning of next month. The Guild of Needle Laces will have a stand there. I will also be there with my own small business 'Needlepaws'. If I can be any help while you are learning the craft just contact me. I will try to help if I can.

Best wishes

Anne

Welcome.  Please go to NOTES and read them all.  They cover our policies, our territory, and the software.  We do have a BEGINNERS group, and you may wish to join it.  I've written some tutorials which are accessible from there.  You will also find links to recommended books, supplies, and online resources.
