straight lines

I have a question about a project i'm working on. I have a piece that is modern with mesc. stitches on it. the picture i drew has large areas of straight lines like squares on top of rectangles as well as as long lines that go from top left down to bottom right. i'm having a heck of a time keeping them look totally straight after i add buttonhole stitches. does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this better?See More

"I totally agree. I can see how it would make sense to a modern motif or design first before delving into the old laces. i did a couple of the traditional flowers and think I'm going to try a design of my own. i was practicing the order of which…"

"Hi Teri, What I'm looking at with Lovesey's picture doesn't seem to be a true ring or couronne. SHe has those in one row and the rows above and below are what she calls point d' angleterre. Every mention of this in old references…"

Welcome.  Please read all the NOTES.  They explain our policies, the laces we include, and how the software works.  Please be aware that we do include point de gaze needle lace, but not Hardanger or pulled thread (even though I make those 2 myself).  Join any groups that interest you.  You might want to look at another ning group

http://stitchinfingers.ning.com/group/pulledthreadwork?xg_source=activity   and there is also a Hardanger group on that site.

If you have any questions, contact me and I'll try to help.
