Hello everyone!

The website situation is difficult.
What about having the International Old Lacers host the talk group; their website is expanding and Mark (the webmaster) has been working on increasing IOLI's participation in this area. Since this is a new service, there will be a bit of adaptation on the part of the IOLI website to faciliate needle lace talk, but Mark is ready to make it happen.
As an organization, IOLI promotes lace study and I think this would be a great fit.

Here is a link to get things started:

full disclosure: I am currently, IOLI First Vice President

Debra and Mark: Would IOLI require participants to be members of IOLI? Would you be willing to host a group which has no affiliation with IOLI? I also don't see provision for adding photos. Please take a look at our GROUP called BEGINNERS. In that GROUP is a DISCUSSION titled CHALLENGE - AN ONGOING WORKSHOP. Please look at the successive posts. We need a platform that will allow us to conduct an online workshop. Ning allows us to include photos in our comments. But if we can't do that, then we need a place in the site where we can post photos of our half finished work and get comments and advice, such as we have here. Will the IOLI forum be able to do that? Google would allow us 100 mb of storage, which will last us about 1 to 2 years. Also look at our GROUP called GROS POINT. We've also had a discussion there of the details of gros point construction. Would your forum be able to handle that? The photos are a really necessary part. I also have questions about our visibility to search engines if we are embedded in your forum. (I just don't know how that would affect our visibility.)

In any case, I'm glad to hear about this IOLI forum. When I renew my membership I may make use of it for other interests. Please let me know what you think about the issues I mentionned above.
