Make, learn and talk about needle lace.
We are up to wednesday night. At 6:00 there was a lecture from Ulrike Voelcker which was very entertaining and informative. It was all about a Lace that she discovered that was previously not known by the lace world. The funny part was that she took her dog and she took lots of pictures of the dog. She is a good speaker.
then the Shuttle Brothers were entertaining us with the Tat Off. I've never seen anyone tat with rope before. They were very funny. And they had a tatting shuttle that was the biggest I've ever seen!
Now it's Thursday. I'm tired now. I've started to hit the wall. Coffee... more coffee. My Romanian point lace is coming along great. Trying to catch up with my Venetian Point lace. Got big plans tonight, going to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Meet up with everyone at 6 and we are off to Temple Square. Lots of folks on the bus. This is popular. It is a beautiful night out. And there is just so much to see there. we are early for the concert so we walk around a bit. More beautiful flowers there. Finally it is time to get in to see the choir. I've never seen a building that large. I hear it seats more than 25,000 people. The choir is already singing. they sound wonderful. but it occurs to me that I should have gotten the prescription for that pair of eyeglasses filled before I went because everything is blurry. That's ok, my ears work fine.
Friday - ok if I was tired on Thursday, it was worse on Friday. more coffee. finished up morning class and then went to meet others from this site. Liz, and Carolyn and others joined in. It was so nice to meet up with folks that actually appreciated the lace. Where we met was in a public place so others felt free to have a look. I actually demonstrated the zupčić. Liz brought a lot of her pieces and I was SO impressed. So beautiful (will there ever be enough time to make all of this lace?).
Ok then off to afternoon class. then to get ready for the big banquet.....
