Griffon machine made needle lace

I can not tell for sure if this is hand or machine-made lace.

Hi Judith,

Yes it is very difficult to detect that this is machine made lace,

it is made on a pantograph machine operated by hand, I have seen it being used in Switserland.

look ar Pat Earnshaw Lace machines and machine laces page 242 and page 249, you can see how it is done.

Patricia

We had some disagreement about whether this was handmade or machine made.  Did you read through all the comments on each separate photo of the details?

Hi Patricia

What you are looking at is machine made lace, we had great discusions on this ,you can see all the stitches and still it is machine,

made on lace machine in Switserland.
