  Yes, that is correct. As far as I know you can skip as many as you like, and then catch up the number in the later row! If you are doing the corded stitch - Whip into each stitch, though - or you will have a straight return thread laying there, - or, alternatively, -  if you collect the straight return thread with the following row of stitches, you have it showing a tiny bit either side of the hole, - so it is not a nice clean hole.

Wow!  That was fast!  Thank you so much!

I can see the stitch details so much better with these new close-ups.  I'm still having trouble getting my head around how this pattern actually works.  Usually this sort of thing is easy for me, so it's been frustrating.  I'll post photos when I have something presentable to photograph   :-D   .   --- Just in case someone else can use the info.

Now to only find some time ....

I added some new pictures some details of the lace you asked for.

It is very hard to get a real good close-up but I hope this will help, if not just let me know, then I have to get the camera in a different set up.
