Margaret A few days ago I posted notes in 2 other groups I belong to about your recent photo additions. I think you will be happy to know that the number of visits to our site nearly doubled just afterwards.

THANK YOU for posting all these antique lace photos.  They add a lot to our store of photos.  There is very little online at other sites, and what there is, is not close enough to see detail.  Thank you again.

Margaret: thanks for posting your newest batch of lace photos.  The poor thing has been washed to within an inch of its life, but the details are good enough for us to see how it was made, at least in part.  You have given us so much to talk about.

Margaret: What is the publication date of Fulvia Lewis' book?  If it is 1924 or earlier it is OK to post photos.  If it is more recent than that, it is a copyright violation, and we must take these down.  I do understand that you posted these photos to be helpful, to try and add a really old lace to the discussion for comparison purposes.  And it is an agony to me to ask you to take them down because I do see their value.

This is why the photos of your own actual laces are so valuable.  You can post your own photos with worries about copyright, and we need those pictures to have something for comparison and study purposes.

But I'm afraid that the book photos do have to come down.

I enjoyed looking at your website with the stumpwork box and mirror.  I especially enjoyed the mirror and love the use of such an old technique to represent such modern activities like science, core drilling and computer work.  I also enjoyed the mix of old and new on the box (the cast iron stove, its stone wall, along side more traditional motifs).

Welcome.  Please go to NOTES and read them all.  They cover our policies, our territory, and the software.  I looked at your website, and the needlelace sampler is marvelous.
